Day of the Dead 2012
This year the City of Perth invited FOMEX to participate in its Carnival Macabre with Mexican Day of the Dead. A very enthusiastic group of volunteers worked very hard to portray this Mexican tradition in all its splendor. This is the list of activities organised by FOMEX:
  • Display of Altar for the Dead for one week.
  • Catrinas exhibition (part of the Altar).
  • Bread of the Dead and hot chocolate for people visiting the Altar.
  • DoD posters exhibition.
  • Skull decoration workshop for children.
  • Mexican folkloric dances by Ixtzul. Two performances.
  • Big format paintings to decorate Northbridge Piazza.
  • Authentic Mexican food stall.
  • Mexican crafts stall.
  • Radio and television interviews explaining DoD.
Photos of the event can be found in our Flickr account.
